Overview

This course teaches you how to use the inpatient functionality in Acacia. It is intended for ward nurses, ward clerks, and anyone who manages inpatient tasks in Acacia.

Learning outcomes

If you complete each section in this course, you will learn how to:

  • Mark a bed as unavailable/available
  • Create a direct inpatient admission
  • Admit a patient with a pre-admission episode
  • Move a patient to a bed, ward or temporary location
  • Request a medical record
  • Update episode information
  • Admit a boarder
  • Add a Floorplan Note
  • Put a patient on leave
  • Compete the Episode Checklist
  • Discharge a boarder and patient
  • Change care type for a patient (statistical discharge).

It is recommended you complete the following eLearning courses prior to attempting this course.

45 minutes.

Completion requirements

To be marked as complete, you are required to pass the quiz at the end of the course. 

Technical requirements

The participants require access to a computer, laptop, or tablet with an internet connection. The module contain audio, so that you will need a headset or speakers. Modules may include screen captures of systems with a lot of detail, so a large PC monitor is recommended for best viewing.
