Participation in teaching others, specifically nursing and other health discipline students, and inexperienced nurses is an expectation, but not something that all nurses feel confident doing. This course is designed to assist you in your precepting experiences, and to give you the skills and knowledge required to teach and support others, in a variety of contexts.

Syllabus

This course is structured to accommodate participants completing the course as a full day workshop.

Target

Nurses and health care professionals who are involved in teaching and supporting others.

Purpose

All Australian nurses are familiar with the ANMAC competencies, but not all Australian nurses are aware that an entire criterion of the national competency standards outlines the expectation that all nurses, where possible, participate in preceptorship, coaching, and mentoring to assist and develop colleagues.
