Overview

The Remote Engagement Essentials workshop identifies induction and professional learning components that support participants to develop knowledge, skills and behaviour required to work effectively in regional and remote communities in the NT. The 2-day face-to-face workshop is accredited and just what you need to become ‘Bush-Ready’.

The training workshop aims to improve the way NTG staff and partners coordinate our services and engage with regional and remote Aboriginal community members. The training further unpacks the definition of engagement, the contemporary model of engagement, stakeholder analysis, setting engagement goals and considering what level of participation is appropriate for the stakeholders and communities.

The training is facilitated by the Remote Information and Engagement team within the Department of Housing, Local Government and Community Development (HLGCD) and is delivered by licensed International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) trainers. IAP2 is an international member association which seeks to promote and improve the practice of community and stakeholder engagement, incorporating individuals, governments, institutions and other entities that affect the public interest throughout the world.  IAP2 is the leading public participation Association in Australasia and IAP2 Australasia is the largest IAP2 affiliate in the world.
