Aim
This course is a multidisciplinary workshop providing an Introduction to Organ, Eye and Tissue Donation.
Target audience
- Registered Nurses from ICU, NICU, ED and OT
- Doctors from ICU or ED
- Social Workers, chaplains, allied health and other professionals who support families in ICU/NICU/ED

- Attitudes and Beliefs
- Current status of donation and transplantation
- Death and donation pathways
- Family communication
- The donation process
Pre-requisite
Prior to attending the face to face workshop, you will need to register with donatelife.gov.au/IDATworkshop
Once registered, please review the:
- 2020 Understanding Death and Donation Booklet
- ANZICS Statement on Death and Organ Donation
(these can be found in the learning module tab)
Duration and delivery
Workshops are delivered face to face and run from 0800-1630hrs.
Face to Face training
This workshop is fully catered for. There will be free parking available directly outside the venue.
Completion requirements
List the completion requirements for this course:
1. Attendance at the full day workshop
2. Completion of an anonymous workshop evaluation
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Participants will acquire 8 hours of Continuing Professional Development points
Cost and Payment Process
There is no cost to attend this full day workshop.
Assessment and Grading
Once you have fully attended the IDAT workshop, your facilitator will grade you through MyLearning and then your certificate will be available. (through MyLearning)
