Essential training for Nursing, Midwifery, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners, Registered undergraduate Students of Nursing/Midwifery and Medical staff, to recognise your deteriorating patient/client early and initiate appropriate intervention.

Purpose

This self directed learning package has been developed to provide identified NT Health employees knowledge in recognising and responding to clinical deterioration at an awareness level. This course will assist in recognise the deteriorating patient/client early and initiate appropriate interventions. This course will fulfil the Essential Training requirements and can be included in CPD hours.

Learning Outcomes

  • Recognition of the deteriorating patient
  • Recognition and interpretation of abnormal observation
  • Initiation of appropriate interventions and management
  • Initiation of timely interventions
  • Effective communication

Duration

Expected duration for viewing tutorial and completing the online assessment quiz is 1 hour

Assessment and Grading

Recognition and Response to Clinical Deterioration training is an essential requirement to be completed once, at commencement of employment.

  • Read the tutorial
  • Complete the online assessment quiz, you must achieve 100% to pass
  • A certificate will be made available once the assessment is completed and passed

Completion requirements

Attendees must receive a pass mark of 100% in the online quiz.

Technical requirements

Learning modules may contain sound / voice overs, participant will therefore need to access these modules on a device that has sound enabled.
