Target

All authorised Top End Health Service (TEHS) COVID-19 vaccination providers who will be administering the COVID-19 vaccine in the NT.

NOTE: Administrative and non-clinical staff working with the COVID-19 vaccine who will not be administering the vaccine, should complete the COVID-19 Vaccination Training - Non-Clinical staff (TEHS) course instead.

Purpose

In preparation for Australia’s vaccine rollout, authorised COVID-19 vaccination providers must complete the Commonwealth Government's COVID-19 vaccination training. This will ensure the NT Health workforce is competent in the safe management and administration of COVID-19 vaccines.

Learning Outcomes

Participants completing this training will cover:

- COVID-19 introduction

- handling and storage

- communication and purpose

- multi-dose vial (MDV) training

- documentation and reporting

- safety and surveillance monitoring and reporting for adverse events following immunisation 

Pre-requisites

To complete this course, participants must:

- have already undertaken routine immunisation training specific to their profession; and

- have the authority to administer vaccinations in their relevant state or territory.

Proof of routine immunisation training

Please enrol in the Giving Vaccines - TEHS course in MyLearning and upload your certificate of completion to show proof that you have successfully completed the routine immunisation training specific to your profession.
